Recovering from Weight Loss Surgery

If you've recently undergone weight loss surgery, congratulations on taking the first step towards improving your health and well-being! But now comes the hard part: recovery.

Weight loss surgery, like any surgery, can be a challenging experience. You may feel sore, tired, and weak in the days and weeks following the procedure. It's important to listen to your body and take things slow as you recover.

Adjusting to a New Way of Eating

One of the biggest challenges after weight loss surgery is adjusting to a new way of eating. Most people need to follow a special diet in the weeks and months after surgery to help their bodies heal. This may involve eating smaller, more frequent meals, avoiding certain foods, and getting enough protein and other nutrients.

Staying Active

Another important part of recovery is staying active. This can be difficult when you're feeling sore and tired, but it's important to move around as much as you can. This can help prevent complications and promote healing. Your doctor or physical therapist can recommend safe and effective ways to stay active during your recovery.

Emotional Recovery

It's also important to remember that recovery is not just physical — it's emotional as well. Weight loss surgery can be a big change, and it's normal to feel overwhelmed or even depressed. It's important to reach out to friends, family, and support groups for help and guidance.

Overall, the key to a successful recovery is to take things slow, listen to your body, and make healthy choices. With patience and dedication, you can make a full recovery and start enjoying the benefits of your weight loss surgery.

Not yet — but we're working on it. Canada and the UK are next on the list. If you'd like to be notified when we ship to your country, drop your email in our newsletter.

Yes — as long as we haven't packed it yet. Email support@baribowl.com within 2 hours of placing the order with your order number (BB-XXXX) and what you want to change.

Not for the bowls (they last forever). For our recipe ebooks and digital phase guides, you can subscribe to get one delivered monthly. Cancel anytime.

Yes — with every BariBowl purchase, one mindful eating utensil set ships free. No code needed. We started this because we believe nobody should be paying extra for the tools that make eating after surgery doable.

Yes — the borosilicate glass bowls and silicone lids are both top-rack dishwasher safe. We recommend hand-washing the mindful eating utensils to keep them in best shape.

Yes — but remove the lid first. The glass is rated for microwave, oven (up to 350°F), and freezer use. The silicone lids should NOT go in the microwave or oven.

We offer a one-year glass replacement guarantee. If your BariBowl breaks within the first 12 months of normal use, email us with a photo and we'll send a replacement free. No questions, no returns required.

Yes — every component that touches your food is BPA-free. The bowl is borosilicate glass, the lids are food-grade silicone, and the locking clips are PP plastic that's BPA- and phthalate-free.

12+ hours cold, 6 hours hot. The double-wall vacuum insulation means no condensation on the outside, so you can throw it in your bag without worrying about your laptop.

The bowls themselves are useful from day one as a visual cue for portions, but the 2-cup capacity is sized for Phase 4 (regular foods), which most patients reach around 6–8 weeks post-op. Phase 3 (soft foods)? Our BariBowl Mini, sized at 1 cup, is coming soon. Always check with your dietitian first.

The 50% protein / 30% veg / 20% carb plate method is the most widely recommended bariatric ratio across both sleeve and RNY patients. Your specific program may have slightly different targets — bring our BariBowl to your next dietitian appointment and ask.

The BariBottle's low-flow spout is engineered to prevent gulping, which is the #1 cause of dumping syndrome from drinking too fast. Many patients tell us it changed their hydration routine entirely. That said, dumping has multiple triggers — if you're struggling, talk to your bariatric team.

Yes! Our recipe library is organized by phase (Liquids, Pureed, Soft Foods, Regular). All our recipes are macro-tagged with protein grams and prep time. Free for BariBowl customers, $9 for non-customers.

30 days, no questions asked. If BariBowl doesn't work for you, send it back for a full refund — even if you've used it. We pay return shipping. We started this policy because we know post-op life is unpredictable and you shouldn't be stuck with something that doesn't fit your stage.

Once we receive the return at our Phoenix warehouse, we issue the refund within 24 hours. Your bank may take 3–5 business days to post the credit back to your card. Shop Pay refunds are usually instant.

Yes — if you want a different bundle size, color, or product, email us before shipping back and we'll swap it directly. No restocking fees, no nonsense.

Yes — we work with 38+ accredited bariatric centers nationwide on patient welcome kits, education materials, and wholesale pricing. Email partnerships@baribowl.com or use our "Become a partner" link in the footer.
